Description

Taken is a significant 150 x 100 cm original contemporary painting by award-winning artist Simon Kenny. This work conveys a profound sense of movement and transformation, where otherworldly energies appear to converge, feeding off the darkness to awaken a luminous, central presence.

Veins of white and turquoise stretch like energetic tendrils across the canvas, suggesting the primal pull of gravity, deep emotion or mystical forces. Through his distinctive use of impasto and translucent layering, Kenny captures the tension between the unseen energetic fields we sense and the tangible materiality of the oil medium.

Gallery Context and Investment Potential Given its expansive 150 cm width and arresting palette, Taken is an ideal centrepiece for contemporary spaces that embrace depth and bold expression. Its metaphysical themes make it a sought-after acquisition for collectors of large-scale abstract art, while its technical execution provides the sophisticated finish required for high-end residential interiors and corporate boardrooms.

As Simon Kenny’s work continues to be picked up by prestigious galleries and international consultants, pieces of this scale and emotional complexity offer a compelling opportunity for asset diversification within a fine art portfolio. This work stands as a timeless tribute to the hidden forces that shape our perception of reality.
