Origins

Description

Origins is a definitive original contemporary painting by the award-winning artist Simon Kenny. Spanning a commanding 120 x 100 cm, this work is a visceral meditation on the concept of genesis—the emergence of form from the void and the first ignition of light within a primordial atmosphere.

In this piece, Kenny utilizes his signature “Lyrical Abstraction” to navigate the boundary between the known and the unknown. Deep, foundational tones give way to explosive, luminous shifts, suggesting a world in the midst of creation. True to his contemporary style, Origins is not a depiction of a specific moment but an invitation to an individual experience—a personal odyssey into the fundamental rhythms of the universe. The “Radical Turneresque” qualities are evident in the way light seems to breathe through the layers of oil, creating a sense of “Primordial Luminosity” that shifts with the surrounding environment.

Gallery Perspective and Transactional Opportunity With its substantial 120 cm width, Origins serves as a powerful visual anchor, making it a premier choice for high-impact placement in luxury residential foyers, corporate boardrooms, or as a “hero piece” in a commercial gallery. Its focus on elemental energy aligns perfectly with the 2026 trend toward “Nature-Inspired Abstraction,” where collectors seek works that evoke the feeling of the natural world without being literal.

As Simon Kenny’s presence grows across prestigious international houses—regularly picked up by leading galleries such as Clarendon Fine Art—acquiring an original of this thematic depth represents a robust transactional opportunity. This work carries the hallmark of an artist who masterfully bridges traditional oil techniques with a modern, cosmic perspective, making it a legacy asset for any contemporary portfolio.
