From The Night

Description

From The Night is a definitive original contemporary painting by the award-winning artist Simon Kenny. Spanning an impressive 150 x 100 cm, this work is a visceral meditation on the quiet intensity of the nocturnal world—the moment where the deepest shadows begin to yield to the subtle influence of light.

In this piece, Kenny utilizes his signature “Lyrical Abstraction” to navigate a palette of deep indigos, charcoals, and shadowed violets, punctuated by a central, ethereal glow. True to his contemporary style, the painting is an invitation to an individual and personal experience; it is not a literal depiction of darkness, but an emotional journey into the “Nocturnal Sublime.” The “Radical Turneresque” qualities are evident in the way light seems to breathe through the layers of oil, creating a sense of vast, cinematic depth that shifts with the surrounding environment.

Gallery Perspective and Architectural Integration With its substantial 150 cm width, From The Night serves as a sophisticated visual anchor, making it an ideal choice for high-impact placement in luxury residential suites, private libraries, or as a “hero piece” in a commercial gallery. Its focus on atmospheric calm and depth aligns with the 2026 trend toward “Quiet Luxury,” where collectors seek works that offer a sense of sanctuary and intellectual repose.

As Simon Kenny’s work is frequently picked up by leading galleries such as Clarendon Fine Art and Whitewall Galleries, pieces of this scale and tonal sophistication represent a robust transactional opportunity. This work carries the hallmark of an artist who masterfully bridges traditional oil materiality with a modern, moody edge, making it a significant addition to any world-class collection.
