Description

The Emerald Light is an extraordinary original expressionist oil painting by the award-winning artist Simon Kenny. Spanning a commanding 120 x 120 cm, this square-format work is a celebratory enquiry into the power of chromatic light and the visceral beauty of the natural spectrum.

In this piece, Kenny departs from his traditional earth tones to explore a deep, jewel-toned palette. Shifting veils of emerald, forest green, and translucent gold interact to create a sense of botanical energy and hidden depth. True to his signature style, the painting is an immersive experience, inviting each viewer to find their own personal resonance within its luminous layers. The work captures a moment of “chromatic awakening,” where light appears to permeate through a dense, organic atmosphere.

Gallery Perspective and Interior Design Potential The 120 cm square dimensions offer a powerful architectural presence, making The Emerald Light an ideal centrepiece for high-ceilinged residential spaces or sophisticated corporate environments. Its focus on green-spectrum light aligns with the current movement toward biophilic design—integrating art that evokes the restorative energy of the natural world.

As Simon Kenny’s work is increasingly picked up by leading galleries such as Clarendon Fine Art, pieces of this scale and specific tonal beauty represent a robust transactional opportunity. This work carries the hallmark of an artist who masterfully bridges the gap between traditional oil materiality and the “Contemporary Sublime,” making it a significant addition to any modern art portfolio.
